Administration
Head Coach Mat Woofe runs the competitive side of the Hamilton Aquatics swimming program.
Mat joined Hamilton Aquatics from Swimming New Zealand, where he was the Lead Coach of the Swimming New Zealand National Training Centre. He brings a wealth of knowledge, including a deep understanding of swimming at the highest level.
Mat has placed several swimmers onto senior national teams, including the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. Mat has been a member of the New Zealand coaching staff at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2021 Tokyo Paralympic Teams, among others and has been appointed Head Coach for the New Zealand team competing at the Queensland Championships this December.
Before these roles, Mat worked as a National Coach in one of Australia’s most renowned programs, Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club in Melbourne.
Hamilton Aquatic Committee & Volunteers
Hamilton Aquatics is a Not-for-Profit volunteer organisation which relies on our volunteers to operate. At the heart of our club is a team of volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to bring the clubs’ vision to fruition, creating a strong sense of belonging between the club and its members.
We encourage all members to get involved; it is a great way to become involved in your child's swimming development and to have fun with others in the club.

Our Officials
Without officials, competitive swimming wouldn’t exist, and Hamilton Aquatics are lucky to have some of New Zealand’s best.
This group of dedicated individuals give up literally hours of their time each year to support the delivery of swim meets throughout Waikato and New Zealand. Some have had children who have since left the sport, some have children swimming, and some are swimmers themselves; what they all have in common is their love of the competition and a commitment to giving back to their community.
Hamilton Aquatics would like to thank them for their ongoing support of the sport of swimming; we appreciate the time they commit so our children can participate in a sport they love.
